A reminder: it’s this coming Saturday, July the 11th! 7.30 til 10.30 at Littlehampton Peace Memorial Hall, 75 Main Road. Littlehampton. Home-cooked supper included. BYO licensed. Family and friends welcome. Guess what? We even have raffles and door prizes!!

Here are the dates of the shows for the rest of the year, all fresh and ready to put in your diaries:

July 11 Bush Dance featuring Andrew Clermont and Lasseter’s Gold (Kyffin’s bush band reformed and re-named, for more info see our “Artists” page). Will include called bush dancing.

September 12 Emerging Artists Focus night. Talented newly emerging or re-emerging musicians will feature.

September 19 To correlate with World Peace Day on the 21st. Just finalising some details of this special extra event, to be held at a venue in town – will get back to you!

November 28 Christmas Event. Bloom will be performing. More details closer to the time.

We have the second half of the show re-capped today. We are featuring comments from a happy new audience member. Thanks, Chloe! . Plus we tip the hat to our quality sound team and our perfect local venue, with catering!

Run Rabbit Run (advertised as Geronimo Drop-outs) were amazing… with their easy listening acoustic and vocals sound.

It was great to see so many young musicians performing aswell as old favourites and their variations in music rhythms and styles.

The always gorgeous Kate West, with guests son Misha and friend Dee from Fiddlechicks, had the audience mesmerised, with sweet and lively harmonies.

I will gladly come to the next Livetown and I hope to see more dancing everyone!

There were a couple of songs by Stephen Stone and Sonya Mellor which involved beautiful dancing by those few that were late-stayers! I believe this is the kind of thing you meant Chloe:

Those of you who have attended will attest that we have exceptional sound at our gigs. We are lucky to have the wonderful Williams Valve Amps and RKG speakers as well as Mr Williams himself, Kyffin (08 8388 4671) and Roly Galea (08 8326 0469). They will be happy to hear from you if you need sound help. Plug. Plug. I mean it, plug, get it?!

The Littlehampton Peace Memorial Hall has been home to community activities for about 100 years. We are lucky to have the wonderful Hall group providing a lovely supper spread to complement the musical buffet.

Part of our intention at the May concert was to help celebrate the 150th birthday of Littlehampton, many other events can be seen at their web page.

As a first-timer to Livetown, I found the whole night brilliant! The atmosphere in the hall where it was held was friendly and relaxed, perfect for a Saturday night.
Outside, the weather remained wet and rainy through-out the night but inside the heaters were working, keeping us toasty and casting a warm orange glow over the audience and the performers, adding to the atmosphere.

First up we were welcomed by Rosemary (our fearless leader), Frank (he’s almost synonymous with the Littlehampton Peace Institute Hall – more about them both next time) and a Native American flute welcome from Ros. Here is a shot of Ros later in the evening:

I enjoyed listening to all the performers but I especially loved Djilia, the gypsy style all girl band for their lively joyous music and their heavy bass lines that got everyone’s feet tapping.

The English Tourists are Stephen Stone and Derrick Allen. Experienced and sure, they travelled and took us with them, via a beautiful cornucopia of tunes.

And Littlehampton locals Disco Bongo. They comprise drummer John “Jonny Bongo” Will and David “Disco Dave” Varacalli. You can get Disco Bongo music on the net, as well as at LiveTown!

Excitement is building with a beautiful full quota of musicians for May 9th. I recommend you put the date and time (7.30pm) in your diaries! And note well: LiveTown is now held at Littlehampton Peace Memorial Hall, 93 Main Road, Littlehampton.

We have a wondrous mix with
Djilia an 8-piece all-girl group – led by Sonya Mellor – playing a range of lively Gypsy and East European music, for a welcome return show,
The English Tourists – Stephen Stone and Derrick Allen – vibrant Greek and Celtic music to get us dancing,
Kate West sweet, strong folk singing and guitar, and
Geronimo Drop-Outs energetic, harmonious acoustic folk-rock

Entrance is only $10 per person, bring a friend for half price, third friend free; children also free! We are licensed for BYO, and will have supper available.
